Rodent Control Frequently Asked Questions

Do you use any poison or bait in this program?

No poison/rodenticides. We do not use rodenticide bait (including SGARs). In some cases, we may use non-toxic attractants or non-toxic monitoring bait (not poison) to help identify activity and improve trapping effectiveness.

Do you use cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) rodenticides in Green or Green Plus?

No. Green and Green Plus do not use cholecalciferol/Vitamin D3 rodenticides. If you want those products, ask about our traditional Mice Membership or Gold Membership options.

Do you use SGARs (Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides) in Green or Green Plus?

No. Green and Green Plus are rodenticide-free and do not use SGARs. We focus on whole-home exclusion (sealing entry points) and monitored trapping.

Does the Green program include exclusion work (sealing entry points)?

Yes. Both Green and Green Plus include an exclusion-first approach. What's needed (and how much) depends on the structure and where mice are entering.

How do you remove mice without poison bait?

We reduce mice by combining exclusion-first service (finding and sealing entry points) with snap traps/monitoring and prevention recommendations to reduce re-entry.

How long does it take to see results or stop hearing mice?

Timelines vary. Mice issues build over time, and improvement usually happens over time too. Results depend on how long activity has been present, how many entry points exist, and home conditions. We can provide an estimate after the initial setup, but it's not exact.

How many visits does it take, and how often will you come?

Visit frequency depends on activity level and technician recommendation. Most homes start with an initial stabilization period (about 2 months) with more frequent visits, then move to monthly or every-other-month maintenance visits.

Is rodenticide-free mice control as effective as traditional baiting?

Rodenticide-free control can be effective, especially when exclusion is done well. However, traditional baiting typically produces faster and more consistent results in many situations. Results depend on activity level and home conditions.

Is this service safe for pets, kids, and wildlife?

We don't guarantee "safe," but we make every reasonable effort to minimize risk. This program is rodenticide-free and uses controlled trap placement/monitoring and clear household precautions reviewed with you before service.

What if my home is older or has a fieldstone foundation?

We can still provide rodenticide-free service, but older/fieldstone homes often have more gaps and entry points. If there are significant masonry issues or deterioration, we may recommend support from a mason or contractor for a long-term seal.

What methods do you use (traps, exclusion, sealing, sanitation recommendations)?

We use all of the above: exclusion/sealing, snap traps, and monitoring, and sanitation/prevention recommendations. The exact mix depends on the home and activity level.

What's the difference between Green and Green Plus?

Green: Mice only (rodenticide-free). Green Plus: Mice + ants, wasps, and spiders (rodenticide-free).
